I think it's so neat the way those huge birds are able to balance, maneuver, and build nests at the very top of those tree branches.
Your next assignment, Ruth, will be to capture a little video of them so we can hear all the sounds. I always think of them as a very quiet bird and would like to hear what kind of vocalizing goes on in a rookery this large.RuthieJhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11663411478574192825noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31176502.post-37791356544693028292008-04-16T22:07:00.000-04:002008-04-16T22:07:00.000-04:00Ruth,The photos are fabulous. It's been living in the area for about 4 years now. At least I think it is the same one.

Enjoyed my visit and am off to read about your frog chorus.

Blessings,
MaryMaryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08175754179624182953noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31176502.post-62944637096364123682008-04-16T20:06:00.000-04:002008-04-16T20:06:00.000-04:00Love these heron shots! They are amazing birds to watch. So big to maneuver through those trees to nest.Cicero Singshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13438108795744902961noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31176502.post-59611743237552144562008-04-16T09:43:00.000-04:002008-04-16T09:43:00.000-04:00That photo of the heron is simply spectacular! That photo of the heron is simply spectacular!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31176502.post-53667782725214511792008-04-16T08:42:00.000-04:002008-04-16T08:42:00.000-04:00I still have not seen any herons for 2008. They look so awkward in the tree, I can't imagine what it must have looked like live with so many of them perched there.
